Since 1984 Memorial has been involved in a “soup kitchen” or meal program for the needy at the St. Vincent de Paul meal site located on 10th and Madison on Milwaukee’s South side. We serve on the first Sunday of the month from 5:30 PM to 6:15 PM. You have an opportunity to serve the meal, make jello buckets of fruit and prepare casseroles of rice and ground meat. On the Sunday before the meal program, jello buckets are put out in the narthex for people to take home and bring back the following week. On the Sunday of the meal, people bring their casserole dishes to the parking lot and we take down the jello buckets and casseroles to the site between 4 PM and 4:30 PM. We serve around 240 guests each Sunday.
